I was thinking of jotting some things down before Ash & Water comes out. I was just working on the auxiliary chapter this morning, so it's all still fresh in my mind.
It's no secret that the story is going to feature Antigone and Oedipus. Perhaps it's a bit on the nose, but I wanted to really hammer home the ancient vibe of that world. Conceptually, I'm most familiar with Greek mythology, which is why I chose to integrate those two.
I've loved the character of Antigone ever since I was a kid, so it felt fitting to play around with what people might know of her outside of the HLU. Oedipus feels like a great addition to serve as a foil to his daughter, and he's also planned to have firm ties with The Unmourned. A Cane versus Oedipus rivalry sounds like the sickest thing ever--I absolutely love it.
I also have an idea for Ash & Water regarding John and Danny, and it will all unveil itself right at the end, within the pages of ODYSSEY. --IS
